Release No.1 PTFE (Aerosol) – Industrial-Grade PTFE Lubricant Spray for Safe, Long-Lasting Protection

Release No.1 PTFE Aerosol is a professional-grade, food-safe PTFE spray lubricant designed for high-performance lubrication, moisture displacement, and rust protection. This aerosol formulation ensures fast, targeted application in difficult-to-reach areas ideal for maintenance teams, engineers, and food processing environments.

Why Choose a PTFE Spray for Engineering & Food Manufacturing?

Formulated to meet food-industry hygiene standards, this PTFE lubricant spray is perfect for use on bearings, chains, hinges, linkages, and machinery components. It reduces friction, penetrates seized parts, and leaves a clean, water-resistant film that protects against wear and corrosion. The silicone-free, non-staining formula makes it safe for food-handling areas and sensitive metal surfaces.

Key Benefits of Release No.1 PTFE (Aerosol)

  • Food-safe PTFE formulation - HACCP-compliant, non-toxic, and suitable for direct use in food environments
  • Precise aerosol application - Quick, mess-free spray reaches tight, complex mechanical areas
  • Long-lasting lubrication - Protects against friction and mechanical wear
  • Frees rusted & seized components - Penetrates effectively into threads and moving parts
  • Silicone-free & non-staining - Safe for use on food-grade surfaces and clean environments
  • Repels moisture - Creates a protective barrier in damp, industrial, or marine environments

Ideal Uses for PTFE Lubricant Spray

  • Food and beverage production lines
  • Maintenance of packaging and processing equipment
  • Mechanical workshops and engineering facilities
  • Bearings, chains, conveyor components, and gears
  • Environments with strict hygiene and safety standards

What Makes It Better Than Standard Lubricants?

Unlike conventional lubricants or silicone-based sprays, Release No.1 PTFE Aerosol is engineered for controlled, high-performance lubrication in hygiene-critical or hard-to-access environments. Its food-safe certification, precise spray control, and non-staining formulation make it the superior choice for professionals requiring reliability and compliance.

Important

  • Extremely flammable aerosol.
  • Pressurised container: May burst if heated.
  • Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

1️⃣ Shake well before use to ensure even PTFE distribution.

2️⃣ Spray directly onto the component or surface from 15–20cm away.

3️⃣ Allow to penetrate rusted or moving parts for optimal lubrication.

4️⃣ Wipe off excess if required, especially in food-safe zones.

What are industrial lubricants used for?

Industrial lubricants are used in all mechanical, maintenance and repair applications as a penetrating lubricant, rust, corrosion inhibitor and dewatering fluid. APT’s industrial lubricants are the ideal solution for displacing moisture when used for vehicle maintenance and also as a preventative for long term, dry storage of components, for example:

    • Small individual ferrous and non-ferrous items

    • Assembled parts – ferrous and non-ferrous

    • Complex assemblies with internal surfaces

    • Large simple assembled items

    • Delicate mechanisms

Industrial lubricants are used in all sectors to dismantle rusted, worn parts and removal of moisture from chains etc. This product is used in all heavy-duty industries such as quarries, workshops, shipping and heavy plant.

    What is automotive lubricant?

Lubricant used in the automotive industry (and others!) is made up of a blend of penetrating oil and release agents with added graphite. The purpose of PTFE is to lubricate, protect and prevent seizures of metals, whilst also preventing further corrosion and oxidation. It’s commonly used in the engineering sphere to remove engine blocks, heads, studs and bolts and is suitable to stop all machine shop dismantling and plant hire servicing. This can also be used to loosen tyre beards that have become rusted to wheel rims, leaving a protective anti-rust coating for trouble-free future maintenance. Another benefit of this is that it won’t attack plastic cables

What lubricant to use when drilling metal?

When drilling metal, it’s very common that metal parts can seize up next to one another and become stuck. Metal that has become seized together for some time can corrode and rust, making the problem increasingly worse and more difficult to break apart. PTFE spray and food grade lubricant is a highly stable, non-toxic, water resistant synthetic lubricant for all types of machinery and applications, formulated specifically to give extra lubrication under the most adverse conditions. The properties give excellent lubrication when sprayed onto the substrate material, which is highly durable when applied to a wide range of moving surfaces and components.

What is the best lubricant for metal?

The best lubricant for metal is dependent on the requirements. APT manufacture and supply a range of lubricant sprays and liquids that are suitable for all. Lets break down the lubricants that we provide:

Release No 1 (available in spray and liquid):
Graphite lubricant and penetrating oil that rapidly soaks into the smallest crevices, providing excellent lubrication. It is unsurpassed on seized metals, allowing them to be separated using less force whilst lubricating the surfaces to reduce the change of shearing components. Release No 1 leaves a lasting protective graphite film for added protection against rust, water ingress, damp and corrosion. Release No 1 is ideal for use on during the removal of engine blocks, heads, studs, bolts, all machine shop dismantling and plant hire servicing.

PTFE (available in spray and liquid):
PTFE is an effective synthetic penetrating oil for more difficult rusted parts and seizures. PTFE is ideal where added protection is required after release and higher temperatures are involved in manufacturing or processing operations. This is one of the most effective food-safe lubricants that leaves a reassuring protective film for added defence against rust, water, damp and corrosion elements in harsh operating environments.

What is the best lubricant for metal on metal?

The most suitable lubricant for metal on metal is Release No 1 since it is a highly effective clear penetrating fluid with excellent water displacing properties to provide deep penetration and protection in the most difficult areas whilst lubricating and protecting from further seizure or rusting by displacing water and moisture from all areas. Release No 1 has been specifically formulated to give the desired release with the toughest seizures of metal parts found in all heavy industries such as; quarries, workshops, shipping and heavy lant. The inclusive additives in the formulation effectively searches and penetrates, lubricating and prevents the shearing of threads and giving a quick release of rusted parts.
