Our leisure centre pipes had become completely blocked and the waste water was coming back up into the showers. We had tried all the usual drain unblockers, plungers, hot water and were resigned to pay out a lot of money to get someone in to clear the pipes. Tried this as a last resort, we cleared excess water from showers, poured the liquid into the drains through the plug hole and left overnight.
